Past and Future Projects

Accommodations for Volunteers

Completed in 2018

HHRH provided the funds to buy

materials, so the village could roof, clean, and make safe the old Catholic Church for volunteer housing. With the funding, the villagers were also able to put in a bathroom and shower!

The funds helped set up the "kitchen house" and a dining hall. HRHH purchased a freezer, cooking supplies, and enough food to feed all the volunteers 3 meals a day.

Without the generous financial support of HHRH's supporters, Nacamaki would not be able to accommodate volunteers with even the most basic services.

Thank you for supporting HRHH!

Completed in 2019

November 2019: HRHH was able to complete the replacement of the roof that was torn off during Winston's devastation. As the center for culture, fellowship, business, and celebrations for the entire village, the Hall is literally Nacamaki's heart.

HRHH was humbled and honored to work alongside villagers to restore this sense of community and a allow another step towards the return to normal village life.

The entire project was punctuated with a beautiful ceremony of appreciation by the entire village.

Demolition and Clean Up

Completed in 2019

For years, since Winston, Nacamaki has been living with the devastation and destruction left behind. Children have had broken and crumbling homes to play around, instead of trees and safe yards. The heartbreak and loss were a constant visual reminder to everyone, everyday.

Thanks to the generous support and donations, HRHH was a able to hire an excavator and operator to clean up, tear down, remove debris, and prepare sites for future use. The visual and emotional difference in the village was amazing!
